Melatonin receptor-1A (MTR-1A) is a high affinity receptor for melatonin, which mediates the reproductive and circadian actions of melatonin. MTR-1A activity is mediated by pertussis toxin sensitive G-proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. MTR-1A is expressed in hypophyseal pars tuberalis and hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN). MTR-1A belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 250761 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of MTR-1A. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
