Fatty-acid amide hydrolase 1 (FAAH) degrades fatty acid amides into the corresponding acid; thereby, terminating the signaling functions of these molecules. FAAH hydrolyzes polyunsaturated substrates preferentially to monounsaturated substrates.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200189 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of FAAH1. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
