The 1-phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase (PIP5K3) supports the intracellular PIP and PI 4,5-P(2) pools by generating PIP from PI and PI 4,5-P(2) from PI 4-P. PIP5K3 is involved in endosome-related membrane trafficking. Defects in PIP5K3 are the cause of corneal fleck dystrophy.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200174 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of human PIP5K3. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
