Xeroderma pigmentosum group A-complementing protein (XPA) is involved in DNA excision repair by binding to damaged sites with various affinities depending on photoadduct and transcriptional state. Defects in XPA are a cause of xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group A characterized by solar sensitivity and skin cancer predisposition.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200168 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human XPA. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
