Exostosin-1 (EXT1) is a glycosyltransferase required for the biosynthesis of heparan-sulfate. The EXT1/EXT2 complex possesses substantially higher glycosyltransferase activity than EXT1 or EXT2 alone. EXT1 is a tumor suppressor. Defects in EXT1 are the cause of multiple exostoses disorders, i.e. skeletal deformities and bone tumors.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200137 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human Exostosin-1. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
