BAM 22P is a 22-aa peptide corresponding to aa210-231 of the precursor proenkephalin-A. It encompasses the sequence of Met-enkephalin that mimics the effects of opiate drugs, which are pain perception and stress response. BAM 22P peptide is a potent endogenous agonist for the sensory neuron specific receptor (SNSR) and isolated from bovine adrenal medulla. EC50 values are 13 and 16 nM for human SNSR3 and SNSR4 respectively.
